Abstract


DINA-MAR is a R&D+i project supported by Tragsa Group. The main action line, among others, is to determine operative aspects of artificial recharge by means of specific studies on pilot areas. Artificial recharge devices built at Los Arenales aquifer by the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture and Junta de Castilla y León have been monitorized during the last six years, in special Santiuste basin and Carracillo area (Segovia province). In this period several parameters have been controlled during artificial recharge operations, in order to study the effectiveness of the devices in relation to seepage rate (in special infiltration ponds and channels). It has led to improved designs and works for sandy aquifers derived from experience, suitable to increase infiltration rate, and to decrease the trapped air into the aquifer and clogging effects. In this way, we are progressing towards high efficiency designs in the frame or irrigation water management. Some of these improvements are applicable on civil building works; others are operative aspects of artificial recharge. In this paper some of the detected impacts and the improvements carried out are exposed and justified. Some of them could be considered new technical criteria willing for analogous aquifers.
