The Baltoniodus triangularis Conodont Zone in the South American Lower-Paleozoic Central Andean Basin: the Alto del Cóndor Formation of northern Argentina

Resumen

La presente contribución menciona el registro de la Zona de Baltoniodus triangularis (Conodonta) en la Cuenca Paleozoica de los Andes Centrales Sudamericanos, en el ámbito geológico de la Cordillera Oriental del norte Argentino, y está representada por la asociación de las especies Baltoniodus triangularis (Lindström), Drepanoistodus basiovalis Sergeeva, Erraticodon patu Cooper, Gothodus costulatus Lindström, Trapezognathus diprion (Lindström), T. quadrangulum Lindström, Baltoniodus cf. B. triangularis (Lindström), Oistodus sp., Triangulodus sp., entre otras. Este hallazgo permite identificar el Dapingiense bajo (Ordovícico Medio) en la Formación Alto del Cóndor aflorante en la región de Los Colorados, flanco occidental de la Cordillera Oriental, Provincia de Jujuy, Argentina. A su vez, la asociación de conodontos recuperada permite proponer una mayor afinidad con la Provincia Faunística Noratlántica y sur de China.
